St. Elizabeth's K of C Council 13678 in Wyckoff New Jersey shipped a little under 600 pounds of “goodies” to the Marines of ETT 1-12 in Afghanistan plus one box to the son of a parishioner. (Go Army)
Congratulation Joe !!!!!
In October 2009 Joe ran in the Marine Corp 10K race in Washington D.C.
Joe won a bet that resulted in $1,000 and has generously offered to donate the prize to the wounded Marine's new home project of Cpl. Visnu Gonzalez, who is featured in an article right below.

I would like to thank you for your generous donation and inviting my family to the Fish Fry on March 14th. The food was excellent. When you become a soldier for this great country of ours, you know that you are joining a brotherhood that will be forever strong and will live on everlasting. My family and I will adapt our future with my handicap and I hope to regain some movement in my arm. It will require a lot of hard work and it will be painful, but with the support from organizations like the Knights of Columbus, it will no doubt, give me the strength to recover. Your committment to help those in your community is exceptional and your wonderful donation will help me through this transition period in my life.
I appreciate your prayers and best wishes for my recovery and please keep our fellow brothers and sisters, who are risking their lives everyday, in your prayers.
My wife Judy and I email you a couple of times and it game back
undeliverable. I received all the boxes and the phone cards and
splint all of them with my fellow CSM Knowles in 2-325 in which SPC
Bassman is in.
The soldiers really appriciate everything ya'll do and for the
kind work each and everyone did to prepare them and send to us.
Again, thank you for what you do and with the church and the
community. My father in law is also a knight in fayetteville, NC chapter.
Thanks again CSM Tomlinson

Thank you so much for your and the Knights support of our Troopers!! My name is Judy Tomlinson, I work closely with Benita and the 2BCT FRG. My husband will ensure that the packages you sent are shared amongst the 2-325 soldiers. Their area of operations are side by side. When Benita called to ask if our BN would accept your donations and asked for Jim's address, I was thrilled, especially when I found out you were with the K of C and from NJ. The Fayetteville K of C donated toiletries and other items at the beginning of the deployment to our soldiers, because they were in a remote area and did not have access to these type of necessities. As Jim mentioned, my Father, Bob White is in the Knights and both Jim and my son (15 years old) both help out when they can. What I find even more amazing, your Church is St Elizabeth's. We are also at a St. Elizabeth's, ours is, St Elizabeth Ann Seton, in Fayetteville NC. It is a small world. I cc'd this email and your address to my Father, and if you ever need a connection with the K of C in NC, he would be more than happy to help. Thank you again for your support and Jim will make sure 2-325 shares in the wealth this holiday season! Happy Holidays to you and your family this holiday season, Judy

Joseph, Tell all the members of the Knights of Columbus that the soldiers and I thank them for what they do. My father in law is also a member of the Knights and I have had the privledge of helping the knights on numerous projects within the community. Again thank you.
What I can do is share half of the boxes and phone card with my fellow CSM brother in 2-325. By doing this and sharing with their organization will benefit both organizations and please the mother of the soldier in 2-325. I can work this with CSM Knowles, they live on a COP about 5 miles from here but I can coordniate the delivery and also the message from you.
Thanks again, and I will share this with 2-325 and the soldiers there as well. Thanks again CSM Tomlinson for all that you do.

Dear MR. Joseph Devita,
My Name is Joey Romero, I currently serve under Captain Tavares and I am a Gunner in C-CO 3rd Plt. I was called into my commanders office about 2 weeks ago and he presented this 550 minute phone card and he gave it to me at the time because I had just won NCO Quarter of the month board, and said that you sent this phone card to the company for what ever soldier he wanted to give out to. Thank you again for supporting our efforts over here, this is my third deployment and I thank god everyday that I am still alive and that my wife and children live a good life. The only thing we are missing is each other and hopefully one day these deployments will come to an end. I will again thank you because it's people like you that make my day a brighter day, even though there are some days in this country that have no bright days.
Take Card and God Bless

Joe and Larry,
Just a quick note to tell you both thanks so much, we have received 2 of the
packages and everything in them was great, especially the coffee, it is
funny cause one of my guys the other days says man I miss Dunkin Donuts
coffee and then there it was! The guys appreciate everything you and the
Knights are doing for us. By the way my uncle should have already, but if he
hasn’t it will be up in a few days, placed your KofC chapter up on the web
